NSU BIG READ Keynote Event with Fantasy Author Jim Butcher rescheduled for March 25-26

NSU’s Big Read Keynote event featuring New York Times best-selling fantasy author Jim Butcher has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 25th in Tahlequah and Thursday, March 26th in Broken Arrow.

We are still offering four convenient times to allow for more attendance.  Please join us for renowned author and speaker Jim Butcher as he explores the themes of dystopian fantasy literature. Jim Butcher is a New York Times best selling author best known for his contemporary fantasy book series The Dresden Files. He also wrote the traditional fantasy series, Codex Alera.  Keynote events are as follows:

So, don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to meet Jim Butcher, hear about how he beat the long odds to become a world renowned novelist, and what it’s like to craft a story! This program is free and open to the community. We hope to see you!

Our kick-off will still take place on Wednesday, March 4th and will feature the film screening of ‘Legends of Earthsea’ a 2004 SciFi miniseries based on Ursula LeGuin’s Earthsea trilogy.  We will be distributing free Wizard of Earthsea readers guides and other materials to promote literary reading. The film will be screened at both the Broken Arrow campus Auditorium, and the Tahlequah campus Webb auditorium from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4th. This event is free admission and open to all. The film run time is 90 minutes, and is rated PG, with some mild adult content. Popcorn will be served!legends of earthsea photo
